About Profession:

An architect is engaged in the design of individual buildings and architectural groups, cities and towns, develops new and optimizes existing space planning decisions. Depending on the specialization, an architect can do the following: deal with the reconstruction of architectural monuments, create landscape panoramas, plan private construction projects, calculate the required number of infrastructure facilities, etc. In government bodies an architect is engaged in the coordination of urban planning activities, taking into account regulatory requirements. An architect develops and implements architectural projects of residential, public and industrial facilities. An architect develops space-planning and interior decisions of the architectural environment, using world culture and history of spatial arts knowledge. An architect selects the most efficient building materials and structures in terms of design, comfort and safety. An architect also can be engaged in restoration work to combine historical and modern buildings. An architect provides visualization and presentation of design decisions for the presentation of design materials to the customer, the public and expert bodies. An architect works with related specialists in the development of project documentation and carries out field supervision.

A graduate who has successfully completed the program is ready to solve professional and fundamental problems of the built environment development, architectural activity and architectural knowledge. An architect will develop proposals for visualization and presentation of design decisions; will defend the results of scientific research and other design content; as well as carry out pedagogical activities and the promotion of architecture. An architect will solve the problems of the development of projects for the creation, transformation, preservation and long-term development of the built environment and its components. An architect will plan, organize and manage the work of creative teams on the generalization and analysis of the experience in the implementation of architectural and urban planning decisions. An architect will prepare and control all design regulatory documents. An architect will provide feedback on design and research proposals, etc.

To solve professional problems, an architect must be able to effectively use materials, structures, technologies, engineering systems when developing architectural and urban planning decisions, taking into account economic components. An architect also must use methods of administrative, managerial and communicative work.
